Once again its down to someone’s poor redaction skills that we’ve been able to see some financial information pertaining to Sony that it would’ve rather kept quiet.
This time its to do with how much money Sony makes from Call Of Duty, which really exemplifies just how much of a financial hit it would take if Microsoft were to make it exclusive to Xbox.
In 2021 alone, about 14 million users spent 30% of their time playing Call Of Duty, 6 million spent 70% of their time and 1 million players spent 100% of their time just playing Call Of Duty.
All that put together amounts to $800 million in the United States alone, with the improperly redacted documents appearing to say that Call Of Duty brings in about $1.5 billion globally.
But that’s just on purchasing the game, not counting players making any of the myriad of in-game purchases they can make, which makes that 1.5 billion jump to what looks like $15.9 billion.
All things considered, PlayStation users no longer being able to play the latest Call Of Duty title would be a huge financial hit.
