Gameloft announced the news through the game’s official Twitter page, in between posts about updates to the game as it is currently in its early access period.
“Since the launch of Early Access, we’ve received invaluable feedback and support from our incredible community of players,” said Gameloft, “who have been instrumental to the improvements made during Early Access.
Moving to a free-to-play experience will allow for more players to share in a fully robust competitive and co-op racing experience. We can’t wait to continue this journey together as we enter this exciting new phase.”
Gameloft also clarified that those wishing to purchase Founder’s Packs can still do so up until the early access period closes, which it isn’t clear on when exactly that is, but it’ll definitely be closed by September 28 we can say.
