World War Z Aftermath will be available for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S on January 24, 2023, Saber Interactive has announced. The upgrade will offer 4K resolution at a blistering 60 FPS for the zombie title, which is based on Paramount Pictures’ undead blockbuster film, and will be free for owners of the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game.
In addition to an upgrade of the game for new generation consoles, World War Z Aftermath will also receive the supersized Horde Mode XL, which will be available exclusively on PS5, PC and Xbox Series X/S versions of the game. This adheres to the same rules as the standard Horde Mode, but with a twist — players will encounter a special XL wave bustling with over 1,000 marauding zombies.
All World War Z: Aftermath and World War Z players on PlayStation®5, PlayStation®4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC will also receive a free update on January 24 that introduces mutators into the standard Horde Mode Z game mode, along with devastating and deadly new weapons and a revamped and improved weapon progression system.
World War Z Aftermath was released on PS4, PC and Xbox One in September 2021, and you can read our full review here.
