Digital Foundry has revealed that the recently-launched Far Cry 5 PS5 60 FPS update is able to hold a better performance than its Xbox Series X counterpart.
Overall, both versions of Far Cry 5 following the update run very well, but it appears that Sony’s latest console has the edge slightly over Xbox Series X.
PS5 fares better than either Microsoft machine, with a perfect lock to 60 FPS during gameplay. The cutscenes still run at 30 FPS, but everything else, including the demanded truck mission, hit 60 without issue. There’s really no performance issues whatsoever.
Far Cry 5 was originally released for PS4, PC, and Xbox One in March 2018, and was patched for 60 FPS support on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S backwards compatibility earlier this month to celebrate the game’s fifth anniversary.
