IO Interactive, the studio behind the Hitman franchise, has announced the opening of a new studio in Brighton, UK.
Speaking in a statement, the studio confirmed that the core team at its new Brighton studio is already established will contribute to all games currently in production at IOI.
Hakan Abrak, CEO of IO Interactive, commented:
We are extremely proud and excited to open our next studio in Brighton, where we see enormous potential to expand our incredible team and attract the very best talent from the exciting UK development scene.
The [Brighton] studio is for all projects. We are working a bit differently compared to other companies. They’re more like ‘this studio is working on this project’ or ‘this studio is doing some elements of this project.
IO Interactive is currently working on a James Bond video game that will act as an origin story for the British super spy. Beyond that, it’s also beavering away on an online fantasy-RPG, and is continuing to support the World of Assassination trilogy.
However, in regards to a brand new instalment in the popular stealth franchise, IO said earlier this year that a new Hitman game is ‘a little bit on hiatus.’
