Baldur’s Gate 3 PS5 Hasn’t Been Ruled Out By Larian Studios

Developer Larian Studios has revealed that it hasn’t ruled out the possibility of porting the upcoming Baldur’s Gate 3 to next-generation consoles, although right now the studio is focussed on PC and Stadia platforms.

Baldur’s Gate 3 Console Port Not Ruled Out

Speaking with GameSpot, the game’s creative director, Swen Vincke, revealed that the company isn’t ruling out porting the game to PS5 and Xbox Series X, but made it clear nothing has been set in stone yet.

Our focus right now is PC and Stadia. We’re going to first focus very hard on getting those two to work, and then we’ll see what happens.

This isn’t the first time the company has touched base on a possible next-gen version of the game either. Previously, Larian suggested a PS5 and Xbox Series X release would be likely given that current-gen consoles wouldn’t be able to handle the game.

Baldur’s Gate 3 will launch on PC and Stadia before any other platform, and is being powered by the Divinity 4.0 engine. Here’s the official blurb for more details:

Gather your party, and return to the Forgotten Realms in a tale of fellowship and betrayal, sacrifice and survival, and the lure of absolute power.

Mysterious abilities are awakening inside you, drawn from a Mind Flayer parasite planted in your brain. Resist, and turn darkness against itself. Or embrace corruption, and become ultimate evil.

From the creators of Divinity: Original Sin 2 comes a next-generation RPG, set in the world of Dungeons and Dragons.
