A report on Insider Gaming has claimed that the upcoming Madden 24 is a ‘make or break’ entry in the long-running franchise, following widespread controversy of the current instalment, Madden 23.
Sources have told the site:
The discount for players who lost their franchise is only the beginning. EA has big plans for Madden 24 and the management of the game knows how big of a year it is. Not just for the game, but for their future in their positions.
EA offered a 50% discount for Madden 23 players who lost their Connected Franchise save due files being corrupted following the release of an update distributed by EA Tiburon.
Elsewhere, a separate source claims that if Madden 24 launches with similar issues to its predecessor, it will result in many changes to the game’s leadership. Furthermore, the negativity surrounding Madden 23, which management reportedly feels is completely justified due to the data corruption issues, has apparently resulted in EA Tiburon to adopt a “now or never” state of mind regarding the series.
Details on Madden 24 are being kept under wraps by EA right now, but it is believed the studio is putting a lot of focus on single-player and offline gameplay.
Madden 23 was released in August 2022 for PS4, PS5, PC, Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One. You can read our full review here.
